My job becomes a lot easier when I have such a beautiful model to work with. The Rolls Royce Dawn was a pleasure to shoot and a bit of a boyhood dream come true.
The idea was to use lighting to slowly reveal the car, bit by bit, while showing off its key features, before its final reveal.
I worked with gaffer, Daniel Tunstall and together we played with light a lot in this one. Dan used a Source 4 on a pivot to glide across badges etc. We decided to light the car fully and shoot in reverse-chronological order, turning lights off as we went until the only lights left were headlights and the famous spirit of ecstasy.
